Another liberal shows his true colors

I was suprised to see Chris Mulick show his liberal side today when he, as well as the Columbian wasted ink dredging up old news about the Joseph James campaign. It has been stated over and over that his consultant had a typo on his initial flyer which was corrected when he re-sent it soon after. Worse yet, Chris stoops to personal attacks, which a neutral reporter should never do.

I personally feel that the news and the Democrats need to start talking about real issues like the economy, jobs, and the housing crisis--rather than a typo on an old flyer.

Mike Delevar, Joseph,James and Mielke come out on top...

As the smoke settles we now have a clear picture of the races in Clark County. My top three hot races were
1-Micheal Delevar
2-Tom Meilke
3-Joseph James

These three races were fun to watch.
as far the Democrats go there were no major suprises. The 18th is still conservative and the 49th is still liberal.

I think the top two primary is a great new way for independents to pick their choice.

Race Results for Joseph James verses Jim Dunn

This seems to be the story of the week. After all that Jim Dunn has put us through for the last 10 years he is now refusing to concede to Joseph James despite his numbers being so low in the primary.

Every other race seems to have been decided the night of the 19th. But Dunn is still holding out, thinking that the late mailed in ballots will still give him a chance. I have to agree with him. We've seen stranger things happen, so we really should not declare a winner until all of the ballots are counted. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Portland Business Journal states "Columbia River Crossing is a totally unfunded package"

"Right now, the Columbia River Crossing is a totally unfunded package, and we've taken more than $3 billion worth of hits" on gas taxes that the state applies toward such projects, Clibborn said. "We need to keep our earlier promises. We're committed to these larger projects and this year, we might even have to cut some of those." --Portland Business Journal

It is interesting that with two higher priority projects--the 520 Bridge and the Seattle Alaskan Way Viaduct which are on their last legs that we are continuing to research the Columbia River Crossing I5 replacement project which has no funding as of yet. The article in the Porltand Business Journal explains that their might not even be funds available for the two critical projects (520 and Seattle Alaskan Way). Why are we continuing to invest so much money in a bridge study that will not provide congestion releif.

Unemployment is at 7% high

Is it any wonder that unemployment in Washington has reached 7%, as the Columbian puts it " It was the highest jobless rate for July since 2004, when the county was emerging from the 2001-2003 recession".

With the overburdomesome regulations placed on businesses in Clark County as well as the rest of Washington, it scares businesses away. Why would anyone want to open a business here with taxes out of control and red tape hurdles in the way. Why isn't anybody in Olympia concerned about this. I've only heard Dino Rossi speak out about this.
