Portland Business Journal states "Columbia River Crossing is a totally unfunded package"

"Right now, the Columbia River Crossing is a totally unfunded package, and we've taken more than $3 billion worth of hits" on gas taxes that the state applies toward such projects, Clibborn said. "We need to keep our earlier promises. We're committed to these larger projects and this year, we might even have to cut some of those." --Portland Business Journal

It is interesting that with two higher priority projects--the 520 Bridge and the Seattle Alaskan Way Viaduct which are on their last legs that we are continuing to research the Columbia River Crossing I5 replacement project which has no funding as of yet. The article in the Porltand Business Journal explains that their might not even be funds available for the two critical projects (520 and Seattle Alaskan Way). Why are we continuing to invest so much money in a bridge study that will not provide congestion releif.
